annorexia and eating disorders

Teenage girls long for being skinny and having a toned up body. Some girls go on healthy diets, some exercise regularly, some limit there food proportions. however there are the girls that starve themselves, over exercise and go on unhealthy food diets.

Teenage girls are mostly influenced by the media to become anorexic and have eating disorders. Magazines display alot of beautiful and skinny girls, diets and weight loss programmes are always shown on Tv and there are alot of music videos of beautiful girls that have toned up bodies. This leaves teenage girls to want to be skinny and beautiful. Unfortunately some girls take losing weight too far and start looking for easy options.

kaylie cruz from the programme make it or break it

Make it or break it is an American Tv drama series which focuses on the lives of teenage gymnasts who strive to make it to the olympic games.

Kaylie Cruz is an elite gymnast who first appeared as being blase in her gymnnastics. As the series continued Kaylie Cruz become national champion and developed a desire to be thinner than she already was.

Kaylie approached her desire, first by limiting the calories of food that she ate. Kaylie would inspect the nutrition guidelines at the back of everything she ate and if it had too much calories she wouldnt eat it. After a while Kaylie started to starve herself, becoming anorexic all because she wanted to fulfill her desire of being thin.

Kaylie's stunt almost lost her her career. After alot of therapy and accepting that she was anorexic Kaylie was ready to face the world again and continue living out her dream of being in the olympic games.

I think Kaylie Cruz is a perfect example of the widths some teenage girls would go through to stay thin, to stay looking good and fulfill there desire of being physically perfect, because it shows that even a teenage national gymnast champion has the desire to be thinner. It is shown in statistics that one third of teenage girls do not like their bodies and think that they are overweight when they are not.

below is a link of the song that Kaylie Cruz composed during her recovery of anorexia. The song is called "beautiful" and is written about anorexia.
