teenage girls represented in seventeen magazine

teenage girls are represented in the media as wanting to be physically perfect as they have to have the best hair, flawless skin, have an amazing body, have the best clothes that are in style and wear make up to make themselves look good.

This magazine cover portrays an image for teenage girls to want to read it as it has a range of titles that teenage girls would be interested in. the magazine cover states pretty much everything a teenage girl desires to have, such as look pretty now!, hair that makes you happy!, amazing new! outfits, your 2012 hot-body plan and real-girl tricks for easy make up and flawless skin.

  1. You need to analyse a lot deeper to demonstrate your understanding of the representation. Please check discussion ideas on the student S:Drive. I have posted a powerpoint on their under 12 Media 2012 with things you need to think about and comment on in detail that will help add weight to your disscusion about the representation of teenage girls having the picture perfect body and image. Media like this place huge amounts of pressure on young girls to look like this....why do you think that is? What are the implications of this type of media? Is it a true representation? Not all girls fit into this picture perfect image.
